Information We Access from Google
When you grant HAL AI permission to access your Google Account, we may access the following data based on the scopes you approve. We only access data needed to perform the actions you request.
- Google Calendar API (Read-Only): We access your calendar to read event details (title, date, time, attendees). This allows the Application to respond to your queries about your schedule.
- Google People API (Read-Only): We access your contact list to search for individuals and retrieve their contact information (names, email addresses, phone numbers) upon your request.
- Gmail API (Read and Send):
- Read Access: We access email headers and snippets to provide you with summaries of your inbox or find specific emails you ask for.
- Send Access: We use this permission to compose and send emails on your behalf when you explicitly instruct the Application to do so.
HAL AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Your Data
Your Google user data is used exclusively to provide the core features of the HAL AI assistant. Specifically:
- To fetch information in real-time to answer your questions.
- To perform actions you command, such as sending an email.
- To personalize your experience within the Application.
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than providing the Application's functionality.
Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion
We do not store your Google user data (emails, contacts, calendar events) on our servers. Data is accessed on-demand to fulfill your request and is not retained after the interaction is complete.
The only data we store are the secure OAuth 2.0 authentication and refresh tokens provided by Google. These tokens are encrypted and stored securely to maintain a persistent connection to your Google Account. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account security settings page. Revoking access will delete our ability to access your data.
Data Sharing
We do not share your Google user data with any third parties. All data accessed from Google APIs is used solely within the HAL AI application to provide services directly to you.
